What to Expect Sunday Mornings

We welcome you to join us for Worship on Sundays at 11:00am. Here's what to expect on Sundays in-person worship...

Arrival:

Worshippers usually arrive about 10-15 minutes before the service begins at 11am. As our guest, we've saved you a parking space just to the right of the church. An usher will greet you at the front door and offer you a worship bulletin to assist you during the service. A lift is available at the rear of the church for those looking for an alternative to stairs.

Dress:

Be comfortable! While some worshippers enjoy putting on a suit and tie or a dress, others prefer to be more casual. Though we strive to make the sanctuary as comfortable as possible, our lovely old building may feel a little chilly in winter, so you may want to bring a sweater.

Service Style:

We would describe ourselves as "comfortable traditional." Even surrounded by stunning stained glass and traditional Methodist liturgy, our worship feels warm, relaxed, uplifting, yet thought-provoking. Music, especially hymn-singing, plays a large role in our services. Most Sundays, we have "Our Favorite Hymns," where congregants request their favorites for everyone to sing together and every second Sunday, our Sardis Choir performs.

Service Length:

Approximately 1 hour

For the Kids:

Almost every Sunday, we offer a "Youth and Children's Sermon" during worship, and then dismiss our children downstairs for "Children's Church." This was paused during the pandemic but we hope to restart our Children's Church in the future. Stay tuned for details.
